Elementary G. 5 – 6 & Middle G. 1 – 3 Curriculum

The curriculum includes original text study consisting of required readings by grade level, award-winning literary works, and books recommended by American teachers. It also features TOEFL-based English classes that connect non-fiction passages to critical thinking and problem-solving skills, as well as Korean-style grammar, vocabulary, and reading classes designed to prepare students for middle school exams, with each component having an equal 50% weight.

I. Novel & Discussion (English Class)

Advanced original text classes for upper elementary and middle school students focus on reading comprehension and in-depth discussions of literary works, reinforcing critical thinking and creative writing/speaking skills. Additionally, students gain knowledge of various cultures and backgrounds, providing opportunities to grow as global leaders.

II. TOEFL Reading (English Class)

Students will read and comprehend passages from TOEFL, including Exposition, Argumentation, and Historical Narratives, while learning essential vocabulary. The course enhances problem-solving skills through various question types such as Reference, Factual Information, Inference, and Rhetorical Purpose.

III. Middle/High School Vocabulary (Korean Class)

Vocabulary is systematically learned from middle school to college entrance exam levels, focusing on roots, synonyms and antonyms, derivatives, and polysemous words. Comprehensive learning management is implemented through daily quizzes and retest systems.

IV. Middle/High School Grammar (Korean Class)

Students learn complex sentence structures and intermediate to advanced grammar rules, aiming for accurate reading comprehension and writing through grammar studies. Additionally, continuous practice with past exam questions ensures perfect preparation for school exams.

V. Reading Comprehension (Korean Class)

The course teaches how to find the theme of a text, understand its structure, and how identifying the theme aids in solving problems. Further, students focus on intensive problem-solving to build a solid foundation for the Korean college entrance exam’s English reading comprehension section.
